William R. Martin, 78, of Olde House Lane, Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.William was born in Joliet, IL on September 12, 1931, a son of the late William C. and Iva F. Sontag Martin. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church. He received his B.S. degree from Indiana University and completed his graduate studies at Ohio State University. He was a member of Elks Lodge #570 and American Legion Post 11, both of Lancaster, OH. William was Vice President and the Engineering Manager for Houze Glass Corporation where he retired after 8 years of service and was also employed at Anchor Hocking Corporation for 26 years. He is survived by his wife, Lettie P. Martin his four children, Constance Arledge and husband Brian of Bradenton, FL, Rebecca Schmale and husband Douglas of Westerville, OH, William R. Martin, IV and wife, Tamara of Seattle, WA and Patrick J. Martin and wife, Christine of West Chester, OH, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. In honoring Williamâs wishes, cremation services will be provided by Hastings Funeral Home and a private family service will be held at a later date.
