John Harold Doublet, 65, of Twin Maples Village, Morgantown, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 11, 2010 at Monongalia General Hospital after an extended illness.John was born in Bronx, NY on August 4, 1944, a son of the late Joseph Doublet and the late Elizabeth (Beechey) Doublet Alexander. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Jean Randolph Doublet children, daughter Tracy Chicchi and her husband Joseph of Morgantown, and son John Scott Doublet of Kutztown, PA and three grandchildren, Benjamin & Brandon Chicchi and Sabrina Doublet.Mr. Doublet was a faithful member of the Morgantown Bible Church. A veteran of the United States Navy, he was stationed on the USS Shangri La during the Bay of Pigs Invasion. He loved working in his woodshop, where he made toys for his grandchildren, as well as other various things for his wife. He also collected N-scale trains and enjoyed fishing. He will be best remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. The family will receive friends at the Morgantown Bible Church, Brookhaven Rd., Morgantown on Friday, January 15th from 5:30 PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 6:30 PM with Pastor James Cooley, II officiating.Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, is providing cremation services to the family.Send condolences online at www.hastingsfuneralhome.com.
