David Robert Lynn, 84, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2009, at his home.David was born in Charles Town on December 3, 1925, the son of the late Robert Lynn and Julia Painter Lynn.He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Morgantown.He graduated from Charles Town High School and was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served during the Korean War. He was employed by the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare and the Social Security Administration for over 30 years.He is survived by his brother-in-law, John Chapman and his nephew Johnny Chapman and wife Denise, his niece, Nancy Crawford and husband, Al great-nephews, Chris Crawford and Shawn Tephbock.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Lynn Chapman, a brother, Maynard Lynn and his step-father Fred Landers. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Monday, January 4, 2010 from 11:00a.m.until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Al Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in East Oak Grove Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Davidâs memory to the First Baptist Church, 432 High Street, Morgantown, WV 26505.
