Sylvia C. Sheets, 88, of Austin, Texas, formerly of Hess St., Morgantown, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2009, at Seton Hospital.Sylvia C. was born in Hundred on January 24, 1921, a daughter of the late Lemon and Mary Miner Curry.She was a long time member of Westover United Methodist Church.She was a member of the United Methodist Women as well as the singing group The Blue Bonnet Girls. She is survived by one daughter Linda Humphrey and her husband Robert of Houston, TX one son David Sheets and his wife Jeanne of Austin, TX, her grandchildren Amanda Humphrey, Brian Humphrey, Jared Sheets, and Noah Sheets, she is also survived by her sister, Lilly Holland of Weirton as well as numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Harley Sheets, her siblings, Esther, Patrick, Ellen, Helen, Naomi, Florence and Francis. Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St. Morgantown, Sunday, October 11, from 4-8 p.m. also on Monday from 10:00a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Dr. John E. Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover.
