Obituary of Stanley Osecky SR

Stanley âTeenieâ Osecky, Sr., 80, of Cassville/Mt. Morris Road, Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at home. Stanley was born in Jere, WV on March 3 1929, a son of the late Samuel A. and Marina Osadchuk Osecky. He retired from Consol Blacksville #1 Mine and was a member of Local Union 1702. He also worked for 13 years at Owens Illinois in Bradford, PA. He worked with stained glass and enjoyed giving a stained glass angel to anyone who visited him. He loved any kind of sports, especially the WVU Mountaineers. He was an avid poker player and enjoyed the âboysâ coming to his poker shanty. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Helen Jean Gamble Osecky, his children Larry Osecky and wife, Ida, Jeff Osecky and wife, Billie Jo, Nancy Ciarmella and husband, Pete and Chuck Osecky and wife, Pam all of Morgantown, and Stanley âToddâ Osecky and wife, Sandy of Mt. Morris his grandchildren, Kris Osecky and wife, Christina of Cameron, Matt Osecky of Mt. Morris, Amy DeWitt and husband, Daniel, Jeffrey Osecky, Marina Ciarmella, and Charlie Osecky all of Morgantown one great-grandson, Dillon Osecky of Cameron step-grandchildren Ronnie and Ryan Statler of Morgantown, and Buddy, Lisa and Derik Lewis of Cameron step great-grandchildren, Levi, Tad and Dillon Statler of Morgantown, his brothers, Benny Osecky and wife, Helen of Annandale, VA, and Sam Osecky and wife, Liz of Leonardtown, MD his sisters, Mary Hughes, Helen Selensky, and Christine Godfrey and husband, Don all of Morgantown as well as several nieces and nephews and his beloved cat, Precious. He was preceded in death by his brothers Peter and William Osecky, and his sisters, Ann Lomenzo, Stella âTaffyâ Wotring, and Patricia Osecky as well as an infant brother. Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown from 4-8pm on Friday, September 18 th and from 10-11am Saturday, September 19 th . A funeral service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 11am with Pastors Fred Tomlinson and Corben Russell officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt. Morris, PA.
