Gladys Mary Dalton Freeman, 95, of Kingwood Pike, Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Morgantown on October 5, 1919, the daughter of the late Bartholomew “Thuel” Dalton and the late Elizabeth “Liz” Hall Dalton. She was the Matriarch and last living member of her immediate family and oldest person on the Kingwood Pike. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. She is survived by a son, Paul A. Freeman (Brenda), daughter Pauline Freeman Walker and granddaughter, Kelly Walker Zinn (Michael). She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is also survived by step-grandson, James Turner (Michelle) their children, Darian, Mathias and Peyton, step-granddaughter, Corinna Cooper (Vince) their son, Liam, sister-in-law, Ocie Dalton, former son-in-law, James Walker, and many special and loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester A. Freeman, in 1989, brothers and sisters, Dora Belle Hall, Levi Dalton (Eva), Joseph Dalton (Irene), Ray Dalton (Lucille), Ada Hart (Oliver), James Lester Dalton, and daughter-in-law, Margie Freeman, brothers-in-law, Carlton Freeman (Loretta), and Charles Ice (Jean). The family would like to thank Dawn, Darla and staff of Morgantown Hospice and a special thank you to Sherry Hart, Karen Summers and Barbara Nicholson for the love, excellent care and compassion shown to their mother. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown Friday, July 17th from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. Visitation will continue at the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Kingwood Pike, Morgantown, on Saturday, July 18th from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor Lynda Masters and Rev. Calvin McCutcheon officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Morgantown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Morgantown Hospice, 1063 Maple Drive, Morgantown, WV 26505 or Mt.
