Abraham Joseph Lucci, 95, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at Mapleshire Nursing Center. He was born in Morgantown on February 12, 1921, the son of the late Attilio and Atalia Lucci. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Army. He worked at Model Shoe Shop, Sterling Faucet and retired form Morgan Shirt Factory. He also worked at Keglars until he retired at 90 years of age. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where he was an usher for many years. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW 548, a club master of Pack 45 Cub Scout. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Elizabeth Rossetti Lucci; son and spouse, Tim Lucci (Debbie) of Salem, VA and a daughter Tessa Lucci Horne of Morgantown; four grandchildren, Kristina Harper, Nicole Horne, Amy Pruett (Brad), and Kevin Lucci (Beth); great-grandson, Austin Pruett; sisters Tresa Sordi of Fairmont, Arlene Jernejcic of Cleveland, OH; Mary Ann Dalzot of Morgantown and Virginia Gibson (Nelson) of Virginia; brothers, Jeno Lucci (Mary) of Ohio, August Lucci of Morgantown, and Altillio Lucci (Maxine) of Westover. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Florence Lorenze, Ennis DeMichele and a brother Michael Lucci. Friends may call at St. Mary Catholic Church, 3334B University Avenue, Morgantown, Thursday, December, 1st from 5-8 p.m. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. to conclude the evening visitation. Visitation will continue on Friday, December 2nd from 9 a.m until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m with Fr. John V. DiBacco as celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Peace Garden Mausoleum. Military honors will be provided at the mausoleum. Thanks for the great care given to Abraham from Mapleshire and Hospice. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mr. Lucci’s memory to Mapleshire Nursing Center, 30 Mon General Drive, Morgantown, WV 26505, Amedisys Hospice Care, 5006 Mid Atlantic Dr. Morgantown, WV 26505 and St. Mary Catholic Church, 3334B University Avenue.
