Jay Mason Bucklew III, 73, of Morgantown passed away Saturday, April 22nd at Mon General Hospital.  He was born April 13, 1944 in Morgantown, a son of the late Jay Mason Bucklew, Jr. and Jeanne Stemple Bucklew.  He is also preceded in death by his wife, Lizabeth Ann Bucklew.

 

Mr. Bucklew was a graduate of Morgantown High School and West Virginia University. He retired after many years of service from the West Virginia University School of Business and Economics and was a member and advisor of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.  He was a member of the Elks Club and the Cheat Lake Rotary Club.  In his free time he enjoyed music, fishing, and watching WVU sports.

 

He is survived by his children, Jay Bucklew IV and Beth Bucklew, both of Morgantown; and sister, Judith Stuart.

 

In keeping with his wishes, cremation services will be provided by Hastings Funeral Home, Omega Crematory.  Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Tuesday, May 2nd from 6-8 pm and again on Wednesday, May 3rd from 10 am until the time of the memorial service at 11 am with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating.  Inurnment will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery. 

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Homeward Bound WV, PO Box 80, Arthurdale, WV 26520 or to The United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties, 278C Spruce St., Morgantown, WV 26505-7500.
