Obituary of Robert William Lyons

Robert “Pappy Bob” Lyons, 83, of Morgantown, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Windy Hill Village.

Robert was born in Morgantown on January 12, 1934 a son of the late Claud and Irene Harper Lyons.

Robert served in the United States Navy and later worked for Mon Power where he remained for 34 years until his retirement.  He very much enjoyed spending time with his canine companion, Peppy.

He is survived by his sons, Robert E. Lyons and his wife Christina and Terry Lee O’Malley; daughter, Melanie Hall; grandchildren, Robert Travis Lyons, Bobbie Gail Lyons, and Kelby Hall, who were the light of his life.

In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Helen Hoover Lyons; and son in law, Ken “Dutch” Hall.

Hastings Funeral Home in Morgantown has been entrusted to arrangements.  A private committal service took place at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
