Betty Jean Bender, 80, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully into the arms of her loving savior surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 16 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Betty was born in Morgantown, on August 11, 1937, the daughter of the late Charles William and Mary Louise Ammons Wilkins.  

Betty enjoyed a very long career as a talented and successful real estate agent.  She was an avid league bowler and enjoyed spending time with her friends at Suburban Lanes.  She also enjoyed gambling and travel, which took her to places such as Las Vegas and Atlantic City.  She also loved the Lake and boating with family and friends.  She loved country music, especially Johnny Cash, and was even known to dance on occasion. She was well known in all aspects of her life as a feisty, spunky and loving woman. She was a wonderfully amazing and entertaining mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be forever missed by all that knew her.

Betty is survived by her children, Vicki Hamrick and husband John, and Terri Perry and husband Ed; grandchildren: Ashley Titus and husband Chad, Jamie Sustakoski and husband Jay, Michelle Snyder and husband Doug, and Kylie Travinski; great grandchildren: Riley, Chance, Nora, Madysen, Hayden, and Kenleigh; siblings: Reeda Ervin, Nan Jordan and husband Bud, Jim Wilkins, John Wilkins and companion Renee Thomas, Mark Wilkins and companion Carol Lukac; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Virginia Wilkins and Charles “Buck” Wilkins.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Family and friends will be received at Riverside Apostolic Church, 336 N. Dents Run Road, Westover, on Friday, August 18 from 1-3 PM and 5-9 PM.  Visitation will continue on Saturday, August 19, from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM with Reverend Nathaniel Hudson officiating.  Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riverside Apostolic Church, 336 N. Dents Run Road, Westover, WV  26501
