Lester Alan “Butch” Young, 51, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017 at home surrounded by his family.

Lester Alan was born in Morgantown, son of Sylvia Ann (McDonald) Young and the late Lester Clifford Young.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children: Lester Alan “AJ” Young, Jr., Audryanna Young and Blu Anjel Merritt; grandchildren Seaira Young and Chase Shaffer; siblings, Patricia Mathess and husband, Shawn, and William “Bill” Young and fiancé Melissa Kyer; nieces and nephews:  Brittany, Brianna, Haley and William and girlfriend Trisha Ponceroff.

Butch loved to ride his motorcycle, was an avid hunter and a real people person.  He never knew a stranger.

Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, from 3 PM until the time of service at 6 PM with Pastor Donna Dalton officiating.  In accordance with his wishes, cremation services will follow.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Treatment Center of America Midwestern Region Medical Center, 2520 Elisha Avenue, Zion, IL  60099.
