Louise B. McCormick, 94, formerly of Westover, Suncrest, and the Point Marion Road, passed away December 15, 2017 at Madison Nursing Home.

 

She was born November 25, 1923 in Morgantown, a daughter of the late G. Lester and Alice Laverne DeWitt Bircher. She was the first of 11 Children.

 

She was a Methodist by faith.

 

Louise and her husband, John, operated a well-known Amoco Service Station at the bridge Corner of University and Pleasant Street where she was a bookkeeper and also served as a bookkeeper for the Cowan Bakery.

 

She is survived by her son, John and his wife Belinda McCormick II of Barboursville, WV; granddaughter, Durasha and her husband Brandon Smith; two great-grandchildren, Selby and Morgan Smith; Three sisters, Alice St. Clair, Ruth Darocha, Betty Hershman; and brother George L. Bircher.

 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John “Paul” McCormick; brothers, Jack L. Bircher, Donald L. Bircher, Robert L. Bircher, and William L. Bircher; and sister, Margaret L. Smyth and Elsie L. Bircher.

 

Graveside services are private and will be provided by Hastings Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
