Nell H. Milne, 99, of Morgantown, died September 19, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Formally a resident of Montgomery, Al; Itazukek, Japan; Grandview, MO; and Marlinton, WV. She was preceded in death by her husband Col. Jack G. Milne of Myersdale, PA., and sisters Allie Dever, Grace Schafer, Mable Byrd, and brothers Ray Hively, and Charles Wolfe. She is survived by sons Jack G. Milne Jr. and wife Sandra, of Irwin, PA; Thomas C. Milne of Morgantown, and brother Henry David Hively of Bridgewater, VA, and many nephews and nieces. Born May 14th 1916, she spent her childhood on her parents farm in Minihaha Springs, Pocahontas Co., WV with her many sisters and brothers. She attended WVU and graduated with a degree in Home Economics. She met her husband Jack at WVU and later returned and earned a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education. She enjoyed traveling with her Air Force family and put her degrees to good use as a pre-school educator and administrator on the bases in which her husband was stationed. In retirement, she pursued her love of art. She was a member of several art guilds and was the recipient of many awards for her work. Her art pieces are in many collections around the country. She made friends with ease and will be missed by all who knew her. Especially her family, unofficial daughters JoAnn and Sue, and special friends Rufus and PeeWee. As per her request, she will be cremated and interred at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to the WVU Childrens Hospital of Morgantown or the Disabled Veterans Association.
