Anna N. Getz

Anna N. Getz, 89, of Westover, WV passed peacefully Monday morning, December 2, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 10, 1934 at Bull Run in St. George, WV, the daughter of the late Waitman W. and Virginia Murl Owens Nestor.

She was a graduate of Parsons High School and St. Mary's School of Nursing. Upon retirement from Mon General Hospital as a surgical RN, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She faithfully attended Crescent Hills Chapel.

On November 5, 1960 in Oakland, MD, she was married to Louis McVicker Getz, who preceded her in death on May 1, 1978.

Anna is survived by one son, Mark L. Getz and wife, Tammy; daughters, Pamela L. Fields and husband, Bradley L. Fields, Beth A. Feathers, and husband, Edward W. Feathers, all of Morgantown; one sister, Susan Poling of Shiloh, WV; six grandchildren, Daniel S. Getz and Markus M. Getz of Morgantown, Marc E. Feathers and wife, Jessica, of Houston, TX, Christopher S. Feathers and wife, Michelle of Rices Landing, PA, Emily A. Fields and Noah T. Fields, of Morgantown; five great grandchildren, Mackenzie J. Feathers and Dean C. Feathers of Rices Landing, PA, Sydney R. Feathers, Nathaniel R. Feathers, and Tyler A. Feathers of Houston, TX; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Leroy, Charles, Daniel, Allen, and Clinton Nestor; and five sisters, Orpha Gainer, Bessie Pennington, Maude Burns, Carrie Wisard, and Virginia Thomas.

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Thursday, December 5th from 4PM – 7PM. A graveside service will be held at Woodsdale Memorial Park in Grafton, WV on Friday, December 6th at 11AM with Pastor Kevin Cain officiating.

The family would like to thank WVU Medicine Hospice and caregivers, Autumn Strother, Mindy Johnson, and Nikki Blosser for their kindness and compassion.
