Barbara Fallon, 62, of Upper Aarons Creek Road, Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at her home. She was born in Bronx, NY and raised in New Jersey; the daughter of Dorothy Fallon Quillen and the late John Fallon. She is survived by her husband Lawrence Edward Spisak; sister, Cathy Fallon, brothers, Kenneth Fallon, and Christopher Fallon. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her grandparents. Barbara worked at the West Virginia Network for Educational Telecomputing starting in 1986, and later served as an adjunct faculty member teaching statistics and creative writing. Her adventurous spirit in her early twenties led her to leave New Jersey on her bicycle with her beloved dog Toko in the basket, and to pedal alone to Spencer, WV to begin a life in the mountains. Her greatest passion in life was beekeeping, and she kept bees for nearly forty years and was a member of the Monongalia County Beekeepers Association. She loved music and dance, and frequently attended contra and square dances near and far. She played mandolin and guitar and was a member of the Percival Hall Pickers jam session for over thirty years, and assisted with the organization of the Gardner Winter Music Festival. She shared her husband Larry's passion of historical reenacting and volunteered at many events at Pricketts Fort, including School of the Longhunter, School of the Goodwife, and served for two years on the board of directors of the Pricketts Fort Memorial Foundation. She choreographed the last two years of the fort's outdoor drama, " Pricketts Fort: An American Frontier Musical." She loved nature and gardening, as well as her dogs Toko, Rudy, Molly, and Moses. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Pricketts Fort at a date to be determined. Send condolences online at www.hastingsfuneralhome.com.
