Barbara Ann Swyck

February 3, 1943 — July 18, 2015

Barbara Clemsic Swyck passed away after a courageous battle with cancer for three years, on Saturday, July 18, 2015, with her family at her side. She was born February 3, 1943 in Morgantown, West Virginia, a daughter of John Clemsic and Hyla Leona Weaver Clemsic. Barbara was an avid bowler, Dallas Cowboys fan her entire life, and a West Virginia University football season ticket holder for many years. Barbara was a loving wife to her husband Roger Swyck, and a very loving friend to all she met. She never met a stranger in her life, and she will be remembered for her love to all “God’s Animals!” She is survived by her husband Roger Swyck of Star City, WV, two brothers; David and Alicia Clemsic of Sabraton, WV, and Larry Clemsic of Waldorph, Maryland, two sisters; Cheryl and Don Shank of Dublin, Indiana, and Debbie Kotova of Masontown, WV, and her cousin, Vicki Weaver Herrington of Mount Morris, PA, who assumed the role of another sister and caretaker through Barbara’s illness. Barbara is also survived by her very beloved cats; Butterball and Fluffer, whom she cherished and adorned throughout her sickness. Barbara loved all the stray animals and general animals in the Star City area. In addition to her parents John and Leona Clemsic of Morgantown, WV, she was also preceded in death by her sister Sandra Lewis. At Barbara’s request there will be no visitation. There will be a graveside memorial service held at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in the Chapel of Tranquility on July 24, at 11:00 with Father John V. DiBacco officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Barbara’s memory to then Monongalia County Dog Pound, 106 Lockside Road, Morgantown, WV 26501.
