Barbara Jean Kurcaba

Barbara "Barb" Jean Kurcaba, 68, of Morgantown, passed away at her home on Sunday, September 18, 2022. She was born on June 3, 1954, in Morgantown, daughter of the late Ira and Dona Sue (Loughry) Shahan.

Barb spent 35 years teaching math at Clay-Battelle High School. She took great joy spending time with her family and friends -- sharing her love by cooking and baking for all who knew her. Barb was always seen with a book in her hand, enjoyed watching Mountaineer sports and loved all animals, particularly her dogs, cats, grand doggies and grand kitties.

Barbara was survived by her loving husband, Walter; her son Samuel Kurcaba and wife Julia; son Derek Kurcaba and partner, Amber Wilburn; grandsons Wesley and Tyler Kurcaba; sister Shirley Seremetis and husband Gus, all of Morgantown.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, September 22nd at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, from 4 p.m. until the memorial service at 6 p.m. with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating.
