Bette Shahan

Bette Hall Shahan, age 90, residing in Richmond, Virginia, and formerly of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday morning, June 6, 2012. She was born in Morgantown on August 30, 1921, daughter of the late Guy A. Hall and Ola Sanders Hall.Bette graduated from West Virginia University in 1942 with a degree in Library Science. She was a teacher and librarian at Morgantown Junior High School until its closing, and then at South Junior High School until retiring in 1988. During retirement, Bette enjoyed her garden and loved spending time with her grandchildren and with her dog "Sweetie."She is survived by three children Dr. Michael H. Shahan and wife Debbie of Parkersburg, WV Dr. Barbara K. Morris of Little Rock, AR and Scott A. Shahan and wife Fran of Glen Allen, VA three grandchildren, Robert R. Shahan, Erin J. Shahan and Patrick M. Shahan and two nephews, Fred Prichard and John G. Prichard.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell S. Shahan, Jr., and her sister, Mary Prichard.A memorial service will be held at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum on Saturday July 28 from 1:30 until the time of the service at 2:00p.m. with Pastor Michael Atkinson officiating.
