Betty Jean Shisler, 88, formerly of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016 at the home of her daughter in Kent, OH. Betty Jean was born in Morgantown on August 2, 1927, the daughter of the late Melvin Leroy Wiliams and the late Rossalette (Murray) Wiliams. She graduated from Morgantown High School. Betty was a loving wife and mother. She was very artistic and enjoyed creating and painting ceramics. She had a wonderful eye for color and created beautiful pieces, many of which she gave as gifts to her family and friends. She taught ceramics for many years, and was an active member and office holder in the Ceramics Anonomous club in Columbus, Ohio. She was frequently a judge for the annual Ceramics Shows, if she was not showing her own pieces. In her later years she was an avid doll collector and filled her home with beautiful treasures. Betty was a kind and loving person with a wonderful sense of humor. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by two children: William Neil Shisler of Manning, SC and Barbara MacAdam and her husband Francis Philip of Kent, OH In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, and one brother, Robert Lee Williams. Friends and family will be received Thursday, February 11 at Hastings Funeral Home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, February 12, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Charles May officiating. Interment will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Morgantown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
