Bonnie Rockis

Bonnie Lou Wion Rockis, 86, of Callen Ave., Morgantown, passed away Monday, April 9, 2012 at her home.She was born February 19, 1926 in Shadyside, OH, to the late John and Mildred (Bryan) Wion, formerly of Mt. Morris, PA. Bonnie was a graduate of Mt. Morris High School, the Heiskell Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and the Fairmont General Hospital School of Anesthesia. She retired after 45 years of service as an RN and Nurse Anesthetist at Heiskell Memorial, St. Vincent Pallotti and Monongalia General Hospitals.Survivors include two sons, John J. Rockis of Morgantown and Michael Wion Rockis and his wife Joyce of Fredericksburg, VA one granddaughter, Kathleen Joyce Rockis of Fredericksburg, VA one brother, Bert Wion of Mt. Morris, PA and her nieces and nephews, Mary Anne Hardesty, Tom and Jenny Luckini, and Pamela Wion, and a great-niece, Francie Marra.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Rockis in 1968 two brothers, John and Raymond Wion formerly of Mt. Morris, PA and one sister, Peggy Pickle, formerly of Miami, FL.Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 5-8 PM and again on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 10 AM until the 11 AM funeral service with Reverend Fred Tomlinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt. Morris, PA.
