Carolyn Lee Everly Galloway

Carolyn Lee Everly Galloway, 72, of Canyon Rd., Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at her residence. She was born in Morgantown on August 14, 1942, and was the adopted daughter of the late Francis Marion "Dutch" Everly and the late Geraldine Levenna (Hunt) Everly. Survivors include her husband, Frederick Lee Galloway, married 55 years; a daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Smith of Morgantown, her husband Sam, their children Lance Wallman and his fiancé Loniann Pell and Drew Wallman, and Cindy’s step-son Sammy Smith and girlfriend Haley Carder; and two sons William “Bill” Kent Galloway of Verona, VA, his wife Dawn and his children Heather, Sean, Billy and Brooke; and David A. Galloway of Culpeper, VA, his wife Tammy and their children Hannah and Eric. She is survived by a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Ron and Carol Hungate, and a brother-in-law Clinton Adams. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was an exceptional seamstress, having sewed throughout her life. She made many beautiful costumes for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading and flower gardening. However, her heart and soul revolved around her grandchildren. She absolutely loved and adored each and every one of them. She and her husband Fred got Dory, their golden retriever, from her granddaughter Heather. She absolutely adored Dory and treated her as one of her children or grandchildren. She loved her with all of her heart. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Sunday, February 15th from 1-3 and 5-7 PM, and again on Monday, February 16th from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM with Reverend Krysta Rexrode Wolfe officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Tranquility Mausoleum of Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover.
