Charles Dickinson Raese, 51, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015. Charles was born in Morgantown on February 29, 1964, the son of the late Richard Aubrey “Dyke” Raese and the late Harriett Louise (Wiedebusch) Raese. He graduated from Morgantown High School in 1982, and went on to attend West Virginia University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. He was a former employee of West Virginia Radio Corporation, and also an avid musician and singer. Charles also loved golf and was quite accomplished, having won the Lakeview Club Championship three times. Charles was a wonderful father, brother, and friend to many. He will be remembered as an active and passionate man, and will be missed greatly by all who knew him. He is survived by his daughter, Amelia Morgan Raese; lifelong loving companion, Lois Pruitt, his brothers, Robert Arlington Raese and wife Paula Kay Raese and their daughter Audrey Iver Raese; John Reeves Raese and wife Elizabeth Raese, and their children, Jane Greer & Agnes Reeves Raese, and David Aubrey Raese and wife Kathleen Raese, and their children Rebecca, Ethan, Adam, and Isabel Raese. Also Charles is survived by his aunt, Mary Kathryne “Kacy” Wiedebusch, cousins, Carole Jean Wiedebusch, Charles Edward Wiedebusch II and wife Heidi Bartlett Wiedebusch and their sons, Charles Jackson Wiedebusch and James Gray Wiedebusch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Greer Raese and his uncle, Charles Edward Wiedebusch. In accordance with Charles’ wishes, Hastings Funeral Home will provide cremation services. Friends and family will be received on Friday, May 22, at The First Presbyterian Church, 456 Spruce St., Morgantown on Friday, May 22, from 11 to 1.00. The memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Shirley Robinson officiating. A private inurnment will follow at a later date.
