Charles George Zilkanich

Charles George Zilkanich, 83, died on Thursday, January 14, 2016. George was born on April 8, 1932, in Morgantown, WV, son of the late Stanley and Mary (Czogan) Zilkanich. George is survived by his cherished wife of 63 years, Connie (Wade) Zilkanich. He is also survived by one sister, Milka “Millie” Christopher, and one brother, John Zilkanich and wife, Thelma. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers: Anna, Mike, Mary, Helen, Julia, Margaret, Stanley, and Rose. George was an electrician by trade. He had over 40 years of service when he retired from Sterling Faucet. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 50 years, he enjoyed sharing Bible teachings with others. He worked diligently with the WV Regional Building Committee assisting in the building and remodeling of Kingdom Halls and Assembly Halls. Every year George looked forward to spring when he could work in his garden with his tomato plants and his flowers. Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Monday, January 18, 2016, from 4-8 pm. A memorial service will be held at the Morgantown Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 2 pm. The service will be delivered by Mr. Dennis G. Thomas.
