Clara Kathleen Kyer, 84, of LeMesa Village, Morgantown, and formerly of Birch Hollow Rd., Cheat Lake, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Over Cheat on February 29, 1928, a daughter of the late Ray and Janet Verna Myers King. Survivors include her two sons, W. Franklin Kyer and his wife Barbara, and Ralph E. Kyer and his wife Charlotte; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and two brothers, William and Lewis King. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Kyer; an infant daughter, Ruby Kathleen Kyera grandson, James C. Kyer, two brothers, James and Coleman King and a sister, Margie King Swann. Mrs. Kyer attended Oak Grove Elementary School and graduated from University High School. She worked for the Colshire Pajama Factor, Morgantown Shirt Factory, Lorraine Sports Coat Factory, and finally from 1967-1987 as an aide in the Monongalia County School System. She was a member of the Cheat Neck Apostolic Church. Family and friends may call at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Wednesday, December 19th and Thursday, December 20th from 4-8 PM on both days. On Friday, December 21st, Mrs. Kyer will be moved to the Cheat Neck Apostolic Church, Birch Hollow Rd., Cheat Lake, where she will lie in repose from 10:30 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 AM with Reverend Wheeler Estepp officiating.
