Daniel Uphold

Daniel Eugene Uphold, 57, of Dug Hill Rd., Morgantown, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2009 at his residence after a short illness.He was born in Morgantown on September 20, 1952, the son of George Phillip Uphold and Mary Jane (Hoskins) Uphold, with whom he made his home.In addition to his parents, survivors include his brother, Randall Uphold of Morgantown a nephew, Shawn Uphold and his wife Tracy Blosser Uphold of Morgantown two great nieces, Kelsi and Kira Uphold and special friends including Natalie, Evan and Jacob Bradley and Kathy and Carissa Metts.Danny graduated from Morgantown High School and attended West Virginia University. He worked with his parents at their convenience store, the former Grandmaâs Pantry, in Rock Forge.He had an interesting and dry sense of humor about him. He dearly loved his nephew and great nieces and was more of a grandfather figure to them than an uncle. He spent the last several years of his life devoting time to taking care of various members of his family.Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Wednesday, December 30th from 3-5 & 7-9 PM and again on Thursday, December 31st from 10-11 AM. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday morning in the funeral home with Pastor Scott Whetzel officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
