David A. Cobun, 56, of Morgantown passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012, He was born on December 21, 1955 in Morgantown, WV son of the late Ralph and Eileen Gertrude Hawkins Nelms Cobun. David graduated from University High School. He was a graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in Business Administration. David was a part owner of and operated the West Virginia Paper Company with his brothers. He was vice-president and in charge of purchasing for the family business.He was a member of the Avery United Methodist Church and attended the Suncrest United Methodist church with his wife. David loved the outdoors, he enjoyed kayaking, skiing and swimming and love to spend time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Charlotte Gatton Cobun, his son, Cord David Cobun his brother, Gary Cobun and wife Kathy Zimmerman of Morgantown adopted brother, Andy Smith and wife Erica of Confluence, PA mother-in-law, Lorene Gatton of Bremen, KY sisters-in-law Barb Cobun and Suzanne Gatton brother-in-law, Charles Gatton, Jr nieces , Carrie & Matt Stark Cindy & Kevin Bardsley Whitney Ostendorf & Mike Heather Vonderhaar & Bill, and Christy Gatton nephew Cameron Cobun and Brent Gatton.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother John Cobun.Family and friends will be received at the Suncrest United Methodist Church, 479 Van Voorhis Road, Morgantown on Friday, February 10, from 1:30p.m until the time of the funeral service at 2:30p.m. with Rev. Tim Halloran officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Garden.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Asera Care Hospice, 300 Penn Center Blvd. Suite 602, Pittsburgh, PA 15235 or to Dave Cobun Scholarship Fund, 911 Stewart Place, Morgantown, WV 26505.
