David Taft

David Allen Taft, 64, of Fairmont and formerly of Morgantown, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.. David was born in Morgantown on July 18, 1949, the son of the late Junior Henry Taft and the late Genevieve Taft. He was a retired member and operating engineer of the I.U.O.E. Local 132 of Clarksburg where he worked for 30 years. He attended the Reedsville United Methodist Church, and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Rena Rogers Taft; his son, David Allen "DJ' Taft, Jr. and his fiancée' Teah Marie Starkey of Reedsville; two grandchildren, Jessie and Easton Taft of Reedsville; his brother, Douglas Taft and his wife Kathy of Masontown; a sister, Michelle "Shellie" Taft and her husband Donald Martin of Morgantown; and a wonderful group of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Ray Taft, formerly of Masontown, WV. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 2-6 PM, and again on Sunday, October 13th from 1 PM until the time of the funeral service at 2 PM with Reverend David Spence officiating.
