Della “Joan” Solorio, 85, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015, joining her beloved husband “Louie,” whom she was married to for 42 years. Not a day went by that she didn’t miss him terribly. She was born in Grafton in April of 1930, the daughter of the late Benjamin Blackman and Hazel V. (Phillips) Blackman. Joan was employed early on at Grafton Glass Factory, Fredlock’s Pharmacy, and then was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Morgantown. She enjoyed her church friends, canning garden goodies and most importantly spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Ben (Kristen) Solorio and Debbie (Bradley) Shatzer; grandchildren, Sheila (Dave) Graham, Gary (fiancée Amy) Shatzer; and her beloved great grandchildren, Jacob & Olivia Graham. She is also survived by her sisters, Jean Moats and Dorothy Holt and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Mary L. Snyder and Juanita Edwards. Ben and Debbie would like to express their special thanks to Patty for all of her care for our mother. Visitation will be at the First Presbyterian Church, 456 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Monday, November 9th from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12 Noon with Reverend Monica Styron officiating. Interment will follow in Woodsdale Cemetery, Grafton.
