Diane Stewart Lepley

Diane Stewart Lepley, 73, of Morgantown, formerly of Washington, D.C., passed away Monday, October 23, 2023 at Mon Health Medical Center. She was born April 4, 1950 in Cooksville, TN, a daughter of the late Guy Harry and Patricia Ann (Groves) Stewart.

She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Morgantown. She received her English degree from the University of Illinois, Masters in English from West Virginia University and J.D. from George Washington University. She was a criminal attorney in the Washington D.C. area before becoming a Magistrate Judge in the District of Columbia.

Diane is survived by her brother, Jeffrey Groves Stewart and his wife, Sandra; nephews, Troy Peter Stewart, Guy Samuel Stewart and his wife Jaya, William Lee Stewart and his wife Hayley; and sister-in-law, Heidi Stewart Gallegly and her husband, Tom Gallegly; great niece, Jayana Heidi Judith Stewart.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas C. Stewart; nephew, Brandon Stewart; and ex-husband, John Lepley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Thomas C. Stewart Scholarship Fund at Wesley United Methodist Church, 503 North High Street, Morgantown, WV 26505; or Brandon's Helping Hands, c/o PACE Enterprises, 889 Mylan Park Lane, Morgantown, WV 26501.

Friends will be received at Wesley United Methodist Church, 503 N. High St., Morgantown, on Saturday, October 28th from 5 PM until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 PM with Rev. Martha Ognibene officiating.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place following the service.
