Dorothy Jean Casteel, 77, of Canyon Rd., Morgantown, passed away Tuesday morning, February 1, 2011, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.Dorothy was born in Simpson, WV on May 5, 1933, a daughter of the late Salathiel & Martha Abel Whitehair.She was a member of Canyon Presbyterian Church and a friend of the Avery United Methodist Church. She volunteered at Canyon Food Pantry and was a member of Mt. Union CEOS Club, Canyon Senior Citizens, Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 9916 and the Red Hat Society. She previously worked at E.G.&G./Dept. of Energy, Larry Smith Buick and Sterling Faucet. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters, Debbie Simpson and husband, Jim of Morgantown, Cheryl Fletcher and husband Mike of Morgantown, Martha Siconolfi and her husband, J.D. of Walhalla, SC her grandchildren, Brian Simpson and his wife, Jamie, Bethanie Crites and her husband, Robbie, Brandon Simpson and his wife, Elisabeth, Shaun Fletcher and his wife, Angie, Jason Fletcher and his wife, Daisy, Jay Klein, Kevin Klein and his wife, Ashley, Mandy Davidson and her husband, Jim, and Joey Siconolfi, her great-grandchildren, Ella and Lexi Simpson, Hank Crites, Jana Fletcher, Greyson Ann Thornburg, Juliet Klein, Hunter Klein, Blake and Anna Davidson and one expected great-grandchild one sister, Elizabeth Starkey of Niles, OH a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary Ray Casteel Sr. and his wife, Nancy of Morgantown and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Gene Casteel on November 27, 2009.Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Thursday, February 3. Visitation will continue at Avery United Methodist Church on Friday, Feb. 4 from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM with Rev. Richard Work officiating. Interment will follow in West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown at 1 PM on Friday.
