Dorothy Payne

Dorothy Marie Payne, 77, of Fairfield Manor, Morgantown, passed away Friday afternoon, March 1, 2013 at her home. She was born October 12, 1935 in Webster County, WV, a daughter of the late Bernice Helmick Lawson. Survivors include four children, Terry Payne of Morgantown, Randell Payne and his wife Denise of Arthurdale, WV, Kendra LaFon and her husband Tim of Winfield, WV, and Don Payne and his wife Tracy of Knoxville, TN; nine granddaughters, and many beloved great-grandchildren. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Forman "Tom" Payne. Dorothy was a member of the Morgantown First Church of the Nazarene. She worked as an office manger at the Morgantown Airport, and enjoyed crocheting as well as cooking. Most of all, she loved her Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown from 5-7 PM Sunday, March 3rd and again on Monday, March 4th from 12:30 Pm until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 PM with Pastor Mike Lyons officiating.
