Douglas Irving Dalton

Douglas Irving Dalton, 89, of Morgantown, passed away on Sunday, September 22, at his home surrounded by family.


He was a lifelong resident of Morgantown, born July 1, 1935 the son of the late Major and Grace Dalton.


Douglas was retired from the Morgantown Utility Board. He loved hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.


Douglas is survived by his daughter Samantha Slemp (Chris) of Hurricane, W.Va. and brother Prentice Gene Dalton of Morgantown, W.Va. He's also survived by grandsons Travis Slemp (Shannon) of Morgantown, W.Va. and Hank Slemp (Erin) of Broadway, N.C. and granddaughter Savannah Slemp of Hurricane, W.Va. He's also survived by great grandson Danny Slemp and great granddaughters Nevaeh Slemp and Callaway Slemp.


Douglas also enjoyed great companionship from his beloved dog Penny.


In addition to his parents, Douglas is also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Dana Lee Dalton and brothers Tyrone Dalton and Major Roy Dalton, Jr.


A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 25, at 12:30 with Pastor Brady McDonald officiating.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 2436 Kingwood Pike, Morgantown, WV 26508.
