Dr. D. John Bell

Dr. D. John Bell age 91 of Morgantown passed away February 10, 2015, peacefully at his home after a long illness. He was surrounded by his loving family. John was born in Fairmont, WV and moved to Morgantown as a young child. He was a graduate of Morgantown High School, WVU, and received his dental degree from Pitt Dental School in 1947. He proudly served two years in the United States Air Force as a dentist and while there he met his wife of 63 years. He returned to Morgantown and practiced dentistry for 34 years. He was a member of Delta Tau Delta and Psi Omega fraternities and the American Dental Association. In his spare time he was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. His humor will be sorely missed. Dr. Bell is survived by his wife of 63 years, Kathy; a daughter Vicki Golembeski (Walt); a son John; six grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents DeLoyd and Goldie Bell. The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Amedisys Hospice and to the Bell family's two angels, Mary Mays "White Legs", and Renee Aspinall "my favorite." Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Friday, February 13th from 1-3 and 6-8 PM, and on Saturday, February 14th from 10:30 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service with Pastor Craig L. Falkenstine officiating. Interment will follow in the East Oak Grove Cemetery.
