Edward D. “Eddie” Casino, 73 of Wana, West Virginia, died Friday, May 1, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his loving wife and family, and his loving dogs, Cuddles and Zoey. He was born February 26, 1942 in Star City, West Virginia, son of the late Fred and Dorothy Savage Casino. He was a volunteer fireman for Star City. He retired from Consol Osage #3 Mine in 1995. He was a member of the UMWA Local # 4043. He also worked at RIO Grande Portland Cement in Albuquerque, New Mexico until he retired in 2001. Eddie was an avid golfer, outdoorsman, and he enjoyed his Friday nights playing cards with his friends. He was a youth league baseball and basketball coach for his children when they were younger. He was an outstanding husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He is survived by his wife Carol Massullo Casino whom he married May 16, 1997; 2 daughters; Angela Casino of Wana, West Virginia, Shelia and her husband Rodney Varner of Pentress, West Virginia; 2 sons; Edward and his wife Denise Casino of Wana, West Virginia, Robert and his wife Melinda Casino of Bruceton Mills, West Virginia. 7 grandchildren; Meggan Brotherton, Ashley Casino Chisler and her husband Michael, Katlyn Casino, Seth Casino, Shelby Casino, Jenna Casino, and Alyssa Casino; 3 step-children; Mike Sanders, Mark Sanders, and Jay Kisner; 9 step-grandchildren; Tristan, Aaron, and Darla Sanders, Tyler, Colby, and Emily Frankhouser, Brandon and Dustin Varner, Cori Kovach; 1 sister in law, Bonnie Casino; 1 uncle; Jim “Moose” and his wife Betty Casino; 1 aunt; Babe and her husband John “Johnny” Stephens. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Freddy and his wife Toni Casino, Frankie Casino, and Jimmy Casino; 1 sister; Ruth Ann Casino. The family would like to thank Dr. Gregory Schaefer, Dr. Jim Bards, 5th floor MICU nursing staff, 8th floor North East tower nursing staff, and the Star City Volunteer Fire Department Visitation will be held at the Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Monday, May 4, 2015 from 3-5 & 7-9 PM.
