Edna Ruth Dalton May, 80. Of Summers School Rd., went home to be with the Lord EARLY Sunday morning, December 11, 2011 at her residence following an extended illness.She was born January 28, 1931 in Monongalia County, a daughter of the late William Dalton and the late Melva Davis Dalton.Mrs. May retired as a seamstress from the former Morgan Shirt Factory with more than 28 years of service. She was a member of Burns Chapel United Methodist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of Morgantown VFW Post 548. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Clifford James May, Sr., whom she married August 14, 1948 four children Donna Blosser and her husband Gerald of Summers School Rd., Linda Gilmore and her husband George of Mountain View Rd., Clifford James May and his wife Mary Ann and Allen Dwaine May and his wife Dodie all of Sand Bank Rd. 10 grandchildren, Machelle Crow, Gerald L. Blosser, Jr., Tammy Shaver, Brook Gilmore, Tina Hawkins, Eric May, Clifford J. May, III, Stacy Lemasters, Sarah May, and Terry Lee Anderson 21 great-grandchildren, Jessica Blosser, Geral Blosser, III, Zachery Blosser, Kayla Thomas, Gregory Shaver, Christen Shaver, Lauren Shaver, Mica Gilmore, Jordan Pyles, Coty May, Courtney May, Morgan May, Rodney Jones, Logan May, Joshua May. Riley Lamar, Ally Hawkins, Makenna May and Easton May four great-great-grandchildren, Olivia Blosser, Davian Bussey, Abryanna Blosser and Makyiah and one brother, Kenny Dalton and his wife Wilma of Morgantown.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lou Anderson, one grandchild, Jeff Anderson one great-grandchild, Ryan Thomas one great-great-grandchild, Braxton Piles and two brothers, Waymond and Norman Dalton.The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Mary Ann and Dodie May, Jim and Teri Murray, Bob and Sheila Murray, Juanita Rodeheaver, Bob England, Peg Taylor and the Hospice Nurses who took care of Edna through her illness. Also, the family would like to acknowledge all those, including Addie and Noami, that came to see Edna while she was sick and brought food.The family will receive friends at Burns Chapel United Methodist Church, 1316 Summers School Rd., Morgantown beginning at 2 PM Tuesday, December 13th and continuing until 11 AM Wednesday, December 14th , the time of the funeral service in the church with Reverend Rick Stackpole officiating. Interment will follow in the Davis Cemetery, McKinney Cave Rd., Morgantown.Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown is in charge of the arrangements.
