Erma Jean Kennedy

Erma Jean Kennedy, 77, of Morgantown, WV, went home to be with her heavenly father surrounded by her loving family, on October 13, 2024.

She was born on November 29, 1946 to the late Charles and Cora Hilling. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a lifelong member of Burns Chapel Church and the Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Roger Kennedy; daughter, Lora Bailey (Chris Davis); sons, Roger Kennedy Jr. and David Kennedy (Tammi); grandchildren, Kristin (Kenny) Lipscomb, Megan Bailey (Kenny Roberts), Tiffany Ferrell, Emily (Harry) Inghram, Mackenzie (Tim) Andrade and Jaret Kennedy; nine great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; great granddaughter, Josie, due in January; brothers, Charles Hilling and Ronald (Patty) Hilling; sister, Doris Johnson; adopted brother, George Myers, and her special canine "Buddy".

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Hilling, sister, Delores Dalton, and brothers-in-law, Prentice Dalton and Willard Dalton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Burns Chapel Building Fund.

Friends and family will be received at Burns Chapel United Methodist Church, 1809 Summers School Rd, Morgantown, on Wednesday, October 16th from 1PM to 9PM, and again on Thursday, October 17th from 10AM until the time of the funeral service at 1PM with Pastor Lynda Masters and Pastor Donna Dalton officiating. Burial will follow at Nicholson Cemetery on Summers School Rd.
