Ernest Gilbert John, 82, of Rivesville, passed away Monday, June 15, 2015 at United Hospital Center of Clarksburg. Ernest was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in November of 1957 and enjoyed being a part of the Morgantown congregation for many decades, and the Fairmont congregation prior there to. He worked as a Journeyman, plumber, and pipefitter with Local Union 152. Ernest is survived by his spouse of 60 years, Lois Marie John, his four children: Cynthia Freed and husband Timothy, Jennifer Crisemon and husband Eric, David John and wife Cheryl, and Melanie Dakon and husband Joseph; six grandchildren: Melanie (Reuben) Losh, Laura (Adrian) Gatto, T.J. (Rachael) Freed, Amber (Paul) McDougal, Julia Dakon, Cayce Dakon, Beau Dakon; and one great grandchild: Ian Losh; as well as his sister Evelyn Neely. He was preceded in death by his father Clyde John, his mother, Margaret May (Maggie) John, a daughter, Deborah M. Koster, and a sister, Wanda L. Branney. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Friday, June 19 from 6-8 p.m. A service will be held in the Chapel of Tranquility at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Saturday, June 20 at 10:00 a.m. with Dennis Thomas officiating. A memorial service will be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 379 Smithtown Road, Morgantown on Saturday, June 20 at 2:00 p.m. with Dennis Thomas officiating.
