Eugene Weltner

Eugene E. âGeneâ Weltner, 82, of Stewartstown Community, passed away Saturday, February 13, at Monongalia General Hospital.Eugene was born in Morgantown on October 18, 1927, the son of the late Ernest and Mary West Weltner. He was a member of Forks of Cheat Baptist Church and was a lifelong resident of the Stewartstown Community. Gene served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed for many years at the L.E. Smith Glass Company. He is survived by many nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, his brothers, Ralph âBillâ, Fred and David Weltner and a sister, Joanna Bonner. Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., from 2-4 & 6-8pm on Monday, February 15, and from 10-11am on Tuesday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11am Tuesday, February 16, with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Point Marion VFW #747 and American Legion #499 will conduct military rites at the funeral home Monday evening at 7:30pm.Burial will be held at Forks of Cheat Cemetery.
