Evelyn O'Neil Curry

Evelyn Mae "Babe" O'Neil Curry, 91, of Morgantown, passed away early Sunday morning, April 21, 2013 at The Meadows of Maplewood in Bridgeport, WV. She was born in Johnstown, PA on August 25, 1921, a daughter of the late Edward and Bessie Clise O'Neil. Survivors include her son, Kenneth Edward Curry and his wife Pat of Bridgeport; four grandchildren, Peter Curry and his wife Kelly of Charleston, WV, Kirk Curry and his wife Mandy of Hurricane, WV, Todd Curry of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Matt Curry of Hilton Head, SC; four great-grandchildren, Grant and Garrett Curry of Charleston, WV and Ashton and Preston Curry of Hurricane, WV and one brother, Robert "Buck" O'Neil and wife Betty of Morgantown.. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Kirk Curry on December 22, 2012. She graduated from WVU with a degree in teaching and spent a majority of her teaching career at Suncrest Junior High School. She enjoyed golf and was a longtime active member of the Pines Country Club and its Women's Golf Association. She and her husband enjoyed an active social life and as such, were long time active members of the Beaumont Dance Club, and the local Elks Lodge, BPOE Post #411 and its Auxiliary. Additionally, she was a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority . Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Wednesday, April 24th from 4-7 PM and again on Thursday, April 25th from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM with Reverend Michael Q.
