Gail Holbert, 68, of Hope Garden Community, Brookhaven passed away Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Ruby Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.Gail was born on December 7, 1940 in Dellslow, WV the son of the late Lucille Mayfield Holbert and Cecil Holbert.He retired in 2004 after 30 years of service from the WVU Physical Plant as a Custodial Supervisor and he was a part-time attendant at Hastings Funeral Home for several years. Gail loved bird watching and photography. Gail is survived by a sister Permelia âPamâ Deuesenberry and husband George Wayne of Morgantown three nieces and nephews, Kelly Harbert and husband, Mark of Monongah, Karla Kurcaba, and husband Greg of Morgantown and Kristie and Randy Vinson of Georgia four great nieces and nephews, Candace Harbert, J. R. Harbert, Lindsay Kurcaba and Storm Deuesenberry, and seven great-great-nieces and nephews, Dominic Harbert, Mark Harbert III, Olivia Harbert, Anthony Harbert, Joshua Harbert, Brooke Harbert and Maranda Vinson.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his great niece, Aubrey Deuesenberry.The family would like to thank the E.D. and 7th floor staff of Ruby Memorial for the gentleness and kindness they showed Gail and the entire family during his hospital stay. Extreme appreciation is also given to the EMS and fire personnel who assisted Gail in his time of need.A special thanks is extended to Alton and Ruth Duley - lifelong friends and neighbors of Gail and family.Cremation services are being provided by Hastings Funeral Home.Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Tuesday, Sept. 8 from 6-7:30p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Inurnment will be held privately at Nicholson Chapel Cemetery.",88203
