Gail Elaine Summers

Gail Elaine Summers, 79, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021 at her home. She was born March 20, 1942 in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Edgar and Opal (Nicholson) Murray. She was a Protestant by faith and was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie and her husband Roy, Donna, Kerry and her companion Robert; and son, David and his wife Dawn; eight grandkids, Erica, Heather, Zach, Dannah, Jordan, Daymean, Madison, and Devon; ten great grandkids, Jacob, Andrew, Alexis, Mackenzi, Delaney, Jovee, Rhett, Liam, Callan, and Brinley; brother, Gary Murray; special cousin, Sharon Wolfe; and nephews, Mike Murray and his wife Marty and Tim Murray and his wife Suzie. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Durward Gary Summers; and sister in law, Janet “Tommy” Murray. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Tuesday, July 27th from 4-8 PM and again on Wednesday, July 28th from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM with Chaplain Dennis Lusin officiating. Interment will follow at Nicholson Cemetery in Morgantown. The family would like to give a special thank you to WV Caring Hospice for their loving care.
