Gaylord Gerald "Hop" Shaw, 90, of Kingwood Pike, Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at his home. He was born in Monongalia County on June 21, 1925, the son of the late Lester Shaw and the late Zella (Dalton) Shaw. He was a retired coal miner, a self employed owner/operator of the Shaw Timber Company on the Kingwood Pike. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing and was a professional trapper. Gaylord is survived by his wife of 67 Years Dorothy Virginia Brown Shaw; his children, Joyce (Harry)Dalton, Wilma (Leroy) Statler, Rosalee (Harv) Johnson, Janice "Cookie" Polce, Bruce (Kendra) Shaw, Allen "Buddy" (Linda) Shaw, Debra (Skip) Friend; brother, Denzil "Jack" Shaw; sisters, Eleanor Hart, Linda Conner and Elma McMillen. He was also survived by 21 grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephew. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by daughters, Nancy Shaw and Vivian McMillen and several brothers and sisters. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown Thursday, Oct. 15th from 7-9p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, Oct. 16th from 11:00a.m.until the time of the funeral service at 1:00p.m.with Pastor Norma Stimmell officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
