George Calvin Poole

George Calvin Poole, 91, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at his home. He was born October 16, 1932 in Morgantown, a son of the late George and Ethel (Dalton) Poole.

He was Christian by Faith and a lifelong farmer. He served in the US Army and retired as a school bus driver in 1989. He was the type of person that if you knew him, you liked him. He is the last surviving member of his immediate family growing up.

He is survived by his son, Jeff Poole and will be sadly missed by other family members.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Smith) Poole; son, George "Randy" Poole; siblings, Lois Thomas, Eldon Poole, and Dixie Tomasky.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 10:30 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
