Glenda June Summers, 83, of Gladesville died unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, as a result of an accident. She was born in Rivesville on June 13, 1932, the daughter of the late Daniel Freeman White and Mary Louise ( Michael) White. She was a faithful member of Howesville Church of Christ. She was a member of Miracle Music Organ Group and served as a secretary for NARFE. Glenda served as an EMT in Connecticut, Maine and West Virginia and EMT instructor for more than 20 years. She was a standardized patient for WVU Simulation Center (STEPS). Glenda is survived by her loving husband of 62 years C. Donald Summers; children, Karen Weyrich, Donna Lynn Acuff and spouse Steven, Dan Summers and spouse Caroline, Jeanette Smith, and Faye Brinkley; grandchildren, Sean, Chad and Kendra Weyrich, Dustin Acuff, Lisa Summers, Aaron and Heather Smith, Brittany, Corey and Jesse Brinkley; great-grandchildren, Gregory, David and Yaromir Weyrich; brothers, Henry White and wife Barbara and David White and wife Carolyn "Susie" as well as several nieces and nephews, and her beloved pup, Lyndsie. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Jeff Weyrich; brothers, Daniel and Howard White and sister, Martha White. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Friday, September 4th from 6-9p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, September 5th from 10:00am until the time of the service at 11:00a.m. with Gene Kessel officiating.
