Guy Walls

Guy Allen Walls, 91, of Old Cheat Rd., Morgantown, passed away Sunday morning, January 9, 2011 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.Guy was born in Morgantown on June 18, 1919, a son of the late Frank A. and Isa M (Cale) Walls.A self employed contractor for most of his life, he was a real handyman who could fix or craft anything. He was also a very proud and avid gardener.He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army from January of 1942 until October of 1945 in the Fourth Armored Division with the rank of Technician, Fourth Grade. He earned the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with five Bronze Stars and the Good Conduct Medal for his service. Survivors include his son, Randy K. Walls and his wife Paula, and two grandchildren, Jason Dale and Bryan Andrew Walls, all of Kennesaw, GA.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Walls and four siblings, Lenora Lockhard, Ruby Conley, Everett âBudâ Walls and Blaine Walls. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, WV on Friday, January 14 from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12 Noon with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Following the funeral service, Mr. Wallsâs wishes for cremation will be honored by his family and inurnment will follow at a later date in the Mt.
