Hilda Bowers

Hilda Smith Bowers 86, of Over Cheat, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at her residence.She was born on July 17, 1925 in Easton, WV, the daughter of the late Lloyd Wayne and Victoria Whithair Smith. She was a member of the Cheat Lake United Methodist Church and the WSCS.She retired from the WVU Mountainlair where she was supervisor of the snack bar for 19 years.Hilda is survived by her husband of 68 years, Coleman L. Bowers 1 son James L. Bowers and his wife Patricia Bowers of Over Cheat one granddaughter, Emily Jean Bowers.She is preceeded in death by one brother Lloyd J. Smith, and three sisters Bettie Constante, Dollie DeWitt, and Hazel Echard.Friends may call Hastings Funeral Home on Friday, June 29, 2012 from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and alsoon Saturday, June 30, 2012 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Hastings Funeral Home.With Pastor Michael Rowe of Cheat Lake United Methodist church officiating. Interment will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover.The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for all their special care and attention given to Hilda over the past months.
