James Cooley

James Robert Cooley, 69, of Morgantown, went home to be with the Lord Friday, January 8, 2010, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Jim was born January 11, 1940, in Hopwood, PA to the Rev. Harry E. and Juanita Barber Cooley. He was employed by American General Insurance. He retired in 1992. Jim was an avid outdoorsman, but his first love was his Savior the Lord Jesus Christ. He served as treasurer and elder at Morgantown Bible Church in Brookhaven. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda McCartney Cooley, son, Rev. James Robert Cooley II and wife, Charlotte of Morgantown, daughter, Jackie Sue Jenkins and husband Jeff of South Charleston, son, Daniel Paul Cooley and wife, Stacie of Lost Creek, and daughter Stephanie Rose McCullough and husband, Scott of Elkton, MD, he is also survived by a brother, Paul Cooley of Gerry, NY and a sister, Janet Burnworth of Uniontown, PA. Jim also loved and enjoyed his six grandsons and one granddaughter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Cooley Fike. Friends will be received at the Morgantown Bible Church, 1407 Brookhaven Road from 2-4 and 6-8 on Monday, January 11, and on Tuesday, from 10-11am at the church. Funeral services will be held in the church at 11am on Tuesday, with Rev. James Cooley II officiating.Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery on the Kingwood Pike.
