James Estel Judy

James Estel Judy, 79, of Oakland, MD passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Mon Health Medical Center.

James was born on June 4, 1943, the son of the late Charlie and Julia Judy.

James graduated from the school for "the deaf and blind in Romney, WV. James loved attending The Church of God regularly and would also attend church conferences. James worked at a broom factory in Clarksburg, WV and vending and food services in Morgantown, WV.

James is survived by his 3 sisters, Betty Steyer; Wanda Riggleman; and Thelma Nelson; 3 brothers, Virgil Judy and wife Regina; Olen Judy; and Bob Judy and wife, Linda; special friends, Steve Graham; Blaney Sproul; and Richard Souch; 5 nieces, 7 nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his wife Peggy Sue Judy who passed away on January 1, 1983; brother, Ivan Judy; Sisters-in-law, Joy Ann Judy and Ollie Judy; Brothers-in-law, Paul Hedrick, Alva Nelson, and Norman Landis.

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, WV 26505 on Tuesday, July 5, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue Wednesday, July 6, from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am with friend Blaney Sproul officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, 457 Zachs Run Rd, Mt Clare, WV 26408.
