James Daniel Quinn

James Daniel Quinn, 62, of Morgantown passed away Sunday, September 17, 2023 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.

It is with heavy hearts we announce he lost his battle with stage 4 cancer.

James was born in San Rafael, CA on October 18, 1960, the son of the late James Samuel Huggins and Carol Jean (Lang-Huggins) Quinn, and survived by his adopted father Robert D. Quinn.

James attended Astronaut High School in Titusville, FL where he was a member of ROTC. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army with the military police and went to airborne ranger training. As a member of the military police he earned sharpshooter badges for proficiency with the M-16, hand grenade, and .45 caliber pistol. James went on to attended Bible Baptist College in Daytona Beach, FL and became a youth minister.

His military experience and education prepared him for a long career as a security officer with various companies at the Morgantown Mall, as well as Wells Fargo, Lockheed Space Aeronautics, McDonald Douglas, and Allied Universal.

James loved Star Trek and building Star Trek. He also enjoyed camping, hiking, vacations at the beach, but most of all he enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends.

Along with his adopted father, James is survived by his wife, Leaine Quinn; three children Willow, Jarod, and Richard Quinn; and two sisters, Leilani Bloomfield and Joyce Edwards.

In addition to his late mother and father, James was preceded in death by grandparents Joseph and Helen Harner, and Oral and Roxanne Lang, as well as his sister, Lucinda Quinn.

James will be remembered as a loving and caring husband and father, with a wonderful sense of humor.
