Jean Ellen Brewer

Jean Ellen Brewer, 89, of Morgantown, passed away at home on Thursday, May 11, 2023 with family by her side. She was born in Morgantown on June 11, 1933, daughter of the late Earl and Jessie Poole Robinson.

Jean was a devoted member of the Church of Christ for 74 years. She worked as an EMT volunteer for Valley Ambulance for three years and completed CNA training. She was considered a loving wife and mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by four daughters and one son: Barbara (Barry) Akers of Cool Ridge, Roy (Vickie) Brewer of Van Vleck, Texas, Joyce (Fred) Lambert of Gladesville, Brenda Swiger of Morgantown and Donna (Randy) Summers of Arthurdale; grandchildren: Cheryl Ferrell, Pamela Glover, Robert Brewer, III, Carrie Meadows, Matthew and Keli Akers, Kristina Perry, Brandon and Cody Brewer, Amanda, Amy and Todd Lambert, Laura Hetzer, Ryan and Megan Swiger, Cordell and Madison Summers; along with 21 great grandchildren and one on the way.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Robert Brewer, Sr., son, Robert Brewer, Jr., and a brother and sister.

The family would like to thank the staff of Amedysis Hospice for their kindness during this difficult time.

Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Monday, May 15th from 4 – 8 pm and on Tuesday, May 16th from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am with Evangelist Vernon Teagarden officiating. Interment will follow at Gladesville Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
